BRAD D. WEISS is a graduate of the George Washington University (B.A. Psychology, minor in Anthropology and Bilogical Sciences, 1978) and George Mason University (J.D., 1982), where he served as an editor on the George Mason University Law Review (and authored “Gulf Offshore Corp vs. Mobil Oil Corp.: Jurisdiction within the Meaning of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands,” 5 GMU L. Rev. 478 (1982)). Mr. Weiss is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia and is admitted to practice before numerous federal district and appellate courts including the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Weiss has also been involved in many other state and federal courts through pro hoc vice admission including Florida, California, Texas, Ohio and other courts.
Mr. Weiss has represented national and international businesses in corporate, employment and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Weiss has also focused on automotive manufacturer/dealer disputes, vehicle allocation, new point protests and antitrust issues. He has also worked with corporate clients on insurance matters, defined benefit litigation, financial and insurance fraud, employment law issues (including Title VII litigation), organizational matters (including buy-sell agreements), commercial financing, aircraft acquisitions and financing, and real estate transactions (including construction agreements, zoning, licensing and financing). Mr. Weiss has extensive experience in shareholder matters and litigation including disassociation and derivative actions.
Additionally, Mr. Weiss represents artists and labels in commercial transactions, copyright issues and litigation. Mr. Weiss has represented a New York label, Boston artists and an American Idol contestant. Mr. Weiss has represented attorneys in bar proceedings, legal malpractice (plaintiff and defense representation), defamation claims, complex transactions exceeding $3 billion dollars.
Mr. Weiss has volunteered and provided advice, counseling and representation to individuals without means to pay a lawyer. Mr. Weiss has responded to over 200 inquires by indigent parties.
Mr. Weiss has practiced before the United States Supreme Court, 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, Virginia Court of Appeals, Virginia Supreme Court, Florida Federal Courts, Texas Federal Courts and cases in California, Ohio and other states.
Mr. Weiss belongs to the Arlington County Bar Association, Pennsylvania, Virginia State, Maryland State, New York State, District of Columbia, West Virginia and American Bar Associations.
